Experience in 3-3-5, 43 & 4-2 defenses at WIU throughout his 3 years of playing. To fill out their roster versatile enough to play 34 Edge or 43 Nose if he adds 20lbs. That can use a hard working strong DL prospect like D. That there is a place for Harvin if not in the elusive NFL then the CFL, AAF, AFL or indoor Arena, pro-semi-pro teams. I know that no matter how deep the DL position is in this 2019 draft. Scouts, GM’s, Agents & Owners take notice. Had 2 sacks 3 tackles in Daytona now he is trying to attend the BSN Combine in Indy. Followed him from the Podyum All-Star game where he had a strong outing both in practice & the game. Easy young man to talk to takes direction well. Even watched a game where I watched him get 2 deflections followed by an INT in 3 consecutive plays. Amazing games with double-digit tackles multiple PBU’s & sacks. No quite in him either he will keep exploiting it. Shows consistency uses intelligence to find a weakness & exploit it. With Harvin you are getting a strong D line prospect with a high football IQ. Use the arms to swim, push grab or punch the strong D lineman from WIU knows the technique. Low bend burst off the line keeping good pad level can use a variety of body movements. Cause he uses every inch of his 77” wingspan in pass rush as well as on tackles. For 6 foot 1 player, he plays much bigger than that. Strong tackler bull rush ability can stick his hands in a lineman’s chest drive big OT’s backwards. As he works with strength trainers continuous his film study believe he will get even stronger improve areas of need. Can get hung up at times but he seems to be improving in that area. Has great timing & extension does a nice job accumulating pass deflections. Good hand fighter with strong but quick hands to get off blocks get in the QB’s line of vision. Legs keep moving the whole time constantly working to get free. Strong powerful legs & core give him a nice burst off the line. Looks good rushing inside & out whatever side is the lineman’s weak side he will work. No matter if he is used on the left, right or middle of the line shows the ability to win the 1 on 1 battles needed to be effective as a pass rusher. Harvin is an intelligent player as a pass rusher. He stays low good pad level ideal fit to tackle some of these quick smaller backs or clog the holes. In the pros he might need to add some weight to be a true runsruffing DT. Versatility to be moved around has played 34 edge rusher & DT at times. Sure tackler in the open field with enough speed to run to the outside if needed. Takes good angles recognizes players weak sides & works thoses angels. Sheds blocks uses his power hand & arm technique to get klatterally around blocks & pull the back to the turf. Boat in the film room & on the field Harvin is diagnosing his opponents downsides winning the game within the game. He studies his opponent’s tendencies to see areas he can take advantage of. He is a smart cerebral player that doesn’t just depend on luck or talent to win. Personally, a huge fan of shorter stout D lineman as I have mentioned before in past reports. What Mayock refers too as a “ Bubblebutt” or squatty body. Technically sound stance good knee bend starts low has a good anchor not easy to knock off the ball. Has a good center of gravity he can be difficult for bigger Tackles or Guards to block. The D lineman from Webber International has a unique frame at 6-1 270 he is stout but powerful.
